The last round of Social Security payments for June is on its way. Last week, people got their checks a day early because the 19th fell on a federal holiday (June 11). If you expect payment this week, you can expect to receive it this Wednesday. Also, if you’re still waiting for your May check, this might be it why hasn’t it arrived.
The day you get your money depends on your birthday and when you started receiving Social Security. If you are not sure, we will tell you the exact date.

When will I receive my June Social Security check?
Below you will see the schedule for June when you should receive your Social Security check or SSDI money.
- June 3: Social Security payments for people who received Social Security before May 1997.
- June 12: Social security payments for people whose birthday falls between the first and the 10th of a given month.
- June 18: Social security payments for people whose birthdays are between the 11th and 20th of a given month. This is a day early as June 19 is June 16, a federal holiday.
- June 26: Social security payments for people whose birthday falls between the 21st and 31st of a given month.
How does the agency determine my Social Security payment date?
The Social Security Administration typically sends payments on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday of each month. Which day you receive your check depends on your birthday.
- If your birthday is between the 1st and 10th of the month, your payment will be sent on the second Wednesday of the month.
- If your birthday is between the 11th and 20th of the month, your payment will be sent on the third Wednesday of the month.
- If your birthday is between the 21st and 31st of the month, your payment will be sent on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
Payments for SSI recipients usually arrive on the first of each month, with a few exceptions that we’ll explain below.
Will I get Social Security and SSI payments on the same day?
If you received Social Security before May 1997, or if you received both Social Security and SSI, the payment schedule is different. Instead of receiving your payments on Wednesdays, you will receive your Social Security payment on the third day of each month and your SSI on the first day of each month.
These payment dates change if the first or third day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday. For example, March 3rd fell on a weekend, so Social Security recipients received their March payments two days early, on March 1st.
What if I don’t receive my Social Security check?
If your check does not arrive on the above date — or it doesn’t arrive at all — The Social Security Administration advises that you wait three additional shipping days before contacting us. You can then speak with a representative at 800-772-1213. ( SSA notes that waiting times are shorter Wednesday through Friday and between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM on weekdays.)
