Prince William says wife Kate is ‘doing well’ as she undergoes chemotherapy for cancer

Prince William said his wife Kate was “doing well” in a rare public comment about princess of wales as he is undergoing preventive chemotherapy for cancer.

Kate announced in March that she was undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with cancer following abdominal surgery she underwent earlier this year.

At the time, she said she was fine, but the couple’s office said they would not provide regular updates on her health and she should not return to public duties until her doctors say she is well enough to did.

However, asked how his wife was doing during a visit to a community hospital on the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall in southwest England, William, 41, replied: “She’s doing well, thank you, yes.”

The Crown Prince, who is also the Duke of Cornwall, was on a two-day trip to the region where he saw a site for a new homelessness project, spent time on a beach with local groups and visited a community hospital.

He arrived by boat on Friday at the Isles of Scilly, 17 miles off the coast of Cornwall, bought Cornish pasties, the region’s famous savory pastry, and told crowds gathered on the pier that his family were “very upset” that he there without them.

William had also met with port operators and local business people on St Mary’s, the largest of the islands, talking to them about their preparations for the summer tourist season.

His father, King Charles, 75, was also out on Thursday, attending a military training college in his latest engagement since returning to public duties following a cancer diagnosis.
