One property was destroyed and another badly damaged after the blaze started on Deacon Crescent in Mango Hill at around 2am.
The builder of the destroyed house estimated the damage at about $1 million.
Fire crews are investigating whether the fire was started intentionally.
“We’re heartbroken,” an owner of one of the homes under construction told 9News.
“We have put all our earnings over the years into this home and have been looking forward to moving into it.”
Another property owner told 9News she was very angry.
“It certainly put a hold on our plans.”
Queensland Police said no one was physically injured.
Police are appealing for anyone with CCTV or CCTV footage of the street between 1.30am and 2.30am to come forward.
Firefighters are currently collecting evidence and reviewing security vision.
Investigations are ongoing.
